THE POGUES - RED ROSES FOR ME - Near Mint - ORIGINAL STIFF ALBUM.
Fantastic quality debut album from one of the most creative and inspiring punk band's of all time.
The Pogues just didn't care, in true punk style they formed on a spur of the moment whim when Punk yob about town Shane MacGowan who was originally energised by seeing The Sex Pistols and Clash wanted a bigger piece of the action for himself.
After originally trying his hand at a Sniffin Glue type fanzine called Bondage he gave up when he couldn't find a photocopier and hand writing each individual zine was impossible so surely a band would be much easier.
Shane then assembled the Nipple Erectors and Shane began writing songs, the band gigged and became know locally as a live wire act mainly because Shane was so unpredictable, eventually the Nips fell apart but Shane overflowing with creativity and ideas formed the pogues.
The Pogues initially called Pogue Mahone started gigging, although different from the nips one thing they shared with them was energy with gigs being a mad full on affair.
Shane's determination payed off and the Pogues went on to greater things earning massive commercial appeal.
Red Roses was a fantastic debut album which just gets better with age, I have managed to find this almost mint archive copy, this is a collector's dream, the sleeve and record are almost 'MINT', don't miss this as once it's gone it's gone chances are I will never find another this good.
A fantastic essential must have album for any serious Nipple Erectors / Nips / Shane MacGowan / Pogues / Punk rock collector.
