Description
A rare UK first pressing of the Pretenders self-titled debut album, signed on the front by the original band, each above their own photo. Pete Farndon signs in black ballpoint pen, using the “P” of the band’s name for the first letter of his own name; Chrissie Hynde signs in red, with Martyn Chambers and James Honeyman Scott both signing in black ballpoint as well.
A friend of a friend was working as a delivery driver back in the day and he managed to grab this copy whilst delivering what he thinks were the first batch of these Debut LP's fully signed by all four members for promotional purposes. A few have made it onto the open market but it is still very rare. The band signatures are very distinctive on these Promo copies and this copy is unmistakably from the first press promo copies. He kept it but never played it. I have had this copy for a while and I have now decided clear some of my rare records to make space for new rare records.
Cover has some light discolouration due to age and also has the singles "Hype" Sticker top right. The record remains in excellent condition. Printed inner is also EX+
A scarce and desirable set of Pretenders signatures, with founder members Scott and Farndon, who both died in Scott in 1982 and Farndon 1983.
