An extremely rare 1980 BBC Transcription Service LP. Recorded live at the BBC’s Paris Theatre, London UK. Comes with original single-sided cue sheets (as issued by the BBC. not photocopies), does not included hype sheets. As you can see from the photos, this is an authentic “green label” BBC Transcription Disc, not a bootleg copy.
Condition: VG+. I’ve taken some close-up photos of the playing surface. Clean, with some light surface marks. I played the record in its entirety on May 16, 2021; plays perfectly with minimal surface noise (you will hear a small amount of crackle on the intro/outro/during quiet musical passages). I heard 1 single click (1 rotation, 1 click) during “Rude Boys Outta Jail”, which may just be a piece of crud stuck in the groove. Apart from that, no clicks, pops or skips. Jacket is the standard generic die-cut BBC Transcription jacket with some ring wear, and a couple of the corners are dented. No writing on this one. See close-up photos.
I haven’t listened to this record in many years. The Pretenders’ set is on fire, what a band! This is the Hynde/Chambers/Honeyman-Scott/Farndon line-up. The Specials were doing a lot of shows at this point of their career, which turned them into a live machine. Pretty much flawless set.

Shipping: Default shipping for records is Canada Post. CAD $35 will cover shipping to Canada, CAD $40 to Continental USA, CAD $65 to Western Europe, CAD $70 to Japan. Unfortunately shipping items from Canada is very expensive, and ebay also takes their percentage of shipping costs. So if I’m shipping this record to the USA, ebay takes $4 of that $40. These shipping charges legitimately only cover shipping and packaging, and are the least expensive TRACKABLE shipping options available. I can ship via other trackable methods if you have a preference (at your cost). If trackable shipping is not available from Canada to your country, I cannot ship to you.
For buyers outside Canada, you are responsible for any applicable duties, taxes, or other import charges. Item manufactured in UK.
I’ve sold records and a bit of pro audio equipment on eBay over the years; it’s been a while since I listed much of anything. I’m not a broker or bulk buyer/flipper, all of the records I’m selling have been in my personal collection for over 30 years. I package records with exceptional care - I use real NEW LP mailers with additional protective cardboard pads. Records are placed in new archival quality inner sleeves (original inner sleeves included when available). For high-value records like this one, I place the record inside a new white die-cut jacket which is packaged next to the cover; this eliminates the possibility of spine and seam damage during shipping.
