THE PURPLE HELMETS - RISE AGAIN - RARE FRENCH IMPORT ALBUM.
Fantastic and rare import pressing of the rise again album from one of the most unusual punk supergroup's of all time.
The Purple Helmets were a tongue in cheek side project, playing high energy cover versions of classic songs that all the band members loved.
In the line-up was JJ Burnel, Dave Greenfield, (both Stranglers) John Ellis (then a Vibrator, but would be a future Strangler), Alex Gifford (a member of the Stranglers horn-section) and Manny Elias (drummer with Tears For Fears).
The band was ostensibly put together so that JJ and Dave could do some gigging between Stranglers projects, it wasn't a serious project but became quite a beast of its own making.
This album is basically a continuation of the initial idea after Ride Again was so warmly received by Stranglers fans, the band yet again pulled it out the bag and delivered another quality record.
The sleeve itself is in good condition for its age with just some minor storage wear around the edges, there is also two Stranglers stickers on the back cover which I'm not trying to remove and anyway they look quite cool.
The vinyl looks in great condition with just a couple of light surface hairlines.
This is a great copy of a must have and rare Stranglers related item for any serious Stranglers / Punk rock collector.
