THE RABBLE s/t Rare Original 1967 Canadian Acid Psych Rock lp!

1967/Canada/Trans World Records TWS-6700…..here’s a rare original Canadian pressing of their first lp. The cover is in VG+  condition with minor light shelf wear and light soiling ring on the white back, light aging on outer edges on back cover, heavy lower right corner creases/scratches, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no splits or delete. The vinyl is in glossy VG to VG+ condition with some light scuffs and light scratches. The record plays through fine with light occasional noise/crackle and the ocassional tick/pop. There are No skips, sticks, jumps or other issues and still an enjoyable listen with clean fidelity. This is not the USA Roulette label issue which has the same cover. This version is much harder to find, compared to the plain Band Name cover! Apparently both covers were issued in 1967 in Canada. Don't miss it! The Rabble were from Pointe Claire on Montreal's west island who played a nominally funky, oddly eccentric alternative to the Haunted's straight-on garage rock. Their first album is a psychedelic curio sadly languishing in oblivion. The band were formed in 1966 by leader/guitarist Mike Harris (a slight pause here to allow for fits of apoplexy across Ontario*) and did the requisite club and bar slog across Montreal island, eventually playing before 4,000 people at the Queen's Park love-in in Toronto on May 22, 1967. But unlike other bands of the era, who were trying to establish rock as a serious medium (as evinced no doubt by the emergence of rock criticism at about the same time), the Rabble were more eccentric, stippling their music with wit, sarcasm and whimsy. The Rabble found its original release on the Canadian Trans-World label in 1967, but after a surprise substitution for Cream in 1968 in Montreal in front of 5,000 fans, the group soon nabbed the attention of U.S. label Roulette, who subsequently released this record south of the border.

GRADING

MINT: I consider only New Unplayed or Sealed items.

M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have a few minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
