I have for sale this rare and perhaps one of a kind test pressing of 1979 Ralph Records (catalog #SM-7908) compilation album, "Subterranean Modern". Featuring 4-tracks by Shreveport, LA's own, The Residents, as well as MX-80 Sound, Chrome and Tuxedomoon. The concept behind this LP was for each of the bands to issue its own take on the Tony Bennet classic, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco."  Apart from The Residents, none of the other bands seemed very keen on the idea.  Chrome recorded only a minute long noise collage. The four Residents tracks form a piece called The Replacement, the story of a person whose personality is being gradually taken over by that of another. All four tracks are brilliant.  Even the standard vinyl release of this album is rare, and all four Rez tracks can be found on the orginal ESD CD of Eskimo and on the Residue Deux CD. 

It is in the jacket of another Rez album, "Fingerprince". The jacket is pretty beat up and someone has covered the front in a thick, white tape.  There are some random writings and doodles on the cover, most notably, the phrase, "Social Cilmber" is written several times.  The vinyl looks and sounds outstanding. I will give each surface a rating of VG++. There is a modest reserve on this piece, and the careful packing and shipping will be FREE via Priority Mail to the USA.
