THE REZILLOS - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - ORIGINAL ALBUM + PICTURE INNER.
The Rezillos formed in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1976. Although emerging at the same time as other bands in the punk rock movement, the Rezillos did not share the nihilism or social commentary of their contemporaries. Instead, the band took a more light-hearted approach in their songs, they preferred to describe themselves as "a new wave beat group".
Their songs were heavily influenced by 1950s rock and roll, 1960s English beat, garage rock and early 1970s glam rock, with recurring lyrical themes of science fiction and B movies.
Their influences mirrored those of US bands the Cramps and the B-52s, who were starting out at the same time.
The Rezillos just took off when punk fans who were always on the lookout for something new and fresh welcomed them into the fold, like the Damned they were an amazing band to catch live, the band had their biggest hit in their home country with the Top 20 hit "Top of the Pops" in 1978, but are probably best known outside the UK for their cover version of "Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight", the song has also been covered by other punk bands, including Youth Brigade and The Macc Lads.
Musically The Rezillos shone bright and recorded some amazing punk music, and this original classic live album contains some fantastic tracks it's a 'REAL' punk album that really needs to be in any top punk collection, it's an album that captures the quirky spirit of The Rezillos in their late 70's heyday.
Both the album, the sleeve and the rare inner sleeve are in great condition for their age vinyl is clean crisp and ready to enjoy, inner has no splits with the outter sleeve having the expected storage wear for an album of this age - grab this while you can it's a real treat for any big Rezillos fan / collector.
