​Frank Zappa famously pointed to this specific record as a life-changing moment. When you hear the sirens and Richard Berry’s menacing baritone on this original Spark 103 78rpm pressing, you understand why. This is two minutes of R&B noir that laid the groundwork for everything "heavy" in rock and roll.
Features the legendary Richard Berry on lead (A-side) and the future core of The Coasters, Carl Gardner and Bobby Nunn (B-side).
​This is a rare, riotous survivor. Most copies of this 78 were jukeboxed into grey dust; this copy still has years of play .Sharp, punchy, and clear. The sirens and heavy bass floor-toms cut through with that massive mid-century 78rpm "thump."
