“BIG HITS (HIGH TIDE AND GREEN GRASS)”

RARE original “ffrr” London Records, very first Mono press released in Chile in 1967, licensed from London Records Inc., USA, with purple/silver London Records labels, made and distributed by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), catalog number LLC-38492, with machine etched matrix numbers XARL-7503-1A 2N (“2N” inverted) 13 3U A in Side A and XARL-7504-3A 2N (“2N” inverted) 10 20 3U D in Side B. Yes, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!! AND WHAT A SUPERB CONDITION!!!

THE ROLLING STONES’ “BIG HITS (High Tide And Green Grass)” was released in 1966 in USA (March) and UK (November), but we had to wait until 1967 to see this great compilation album released here in Chile, and like in most of the cases of the period we got and UNIQUE COVER!!! Yes, the cover is made of 2 single sheets of paper attached to a thin cardboard (not glued) and kept together for an outer plastic bag which’s also part of the cover. Curiously, here in Chile front cover keeps the same artwork of UK release, but as already informed, Chilean release is licensed from London Records Inc., USA. In back cover it’s the correct front cover of US release, with London Records logo in both front and back cover with title and tracklist in English only, with a little blue rectangle at bottom right corner of back cover with all Chilean information and “Serie Estelar” (Stellar Serie) logo. In labels the tracklist is only in English and check the pictures, because the labels “hide” the rarity of this very first Chilean press, titles of 2 songs are misprinted!!!

The song “Not Fade Away” was misprinted in label, “NOT FACE AWAY” and the song “Get Off Of My Cloud” was misprinted “GETT OFF OF MY CLOUD”!!! Yes Sirs, The Rolling Stones’ “Big Hits” with an UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE ERRORS!!! And check the pictures, cover and record in SUPERB CONDITION!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition both front and back cover, clear and clean, with no rips, writings or marks, no creases, no blemishes, only very minimal wear in the mouth edge. Plastic outer bag is in  great EX condition, complete and clean, only in the mouth edge is a cut of about 1,5 inches. Record is in great EX or EX+ condition, it’s glossy and clean but with scuffs and some light hairlines which don’t affect sound at all. Labels are in NM or NM+ condition in both sides, clean and clear, with no marks, writings or wear at all. Sound is the best part, it’s in great EX+ or NM- condition both sides with no background noise at all (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), loud and clear, with only some light crackles here and there, which of clourse don’t cause any distraction from the superb sound of the album, most of songs play in NM condition!!! Overall a RARE record in GREAT condition with a GREAT LOOK and complete with the outer plastic bag, with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE ERRORS and with an amazing sound quality in spite of the 45 years old!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
