Please note: This is a brand new account because I have been commissioned to sell a large collection of records that once belonged a DJ in Santa Barbara, CA (more about him below) and the collection belongs to DodgerBob. WOW!! For sale is an incredibly rare test pressing of The Rolling Stones (underrated in my opinion) 1975 compilation album Metamorphosis! It’s very hard to say how many of these were made and how many still exist...my best guess: not very many...haha. I could only find one other copy that has ever sold at auction and that was in 2008.

This was pressed at the London Records/ABKCO Peter Pan plant as denoted by the labels and PP in the runouts. The labels are simple white labels printed with the text:

From the collection of Bob Senn has been stamped on one label. This was stamped on nearly all records in his collection.

The track list was printed on purple London Records stationery and was originally stapled to the company advertising inner sleeve which housed the disc. No cardboard sleeve was included, though for protection, a generic cardboard sleeve will be provided. I cannot say if this is a different mix from the final release or not. I can’t find much information on this at all. I do guarantee the authenticity of this test pressing 100% as this is from the collection of Bob Senn, a DJ and program director for KTMS FM “The Rock on the Coast (more about him below) and in this incredible collection were a handful of other different test pressings he had been given along with letters and postcards from record company executives.

This will make a unique addition in the collection of any serious Rolling Stones collector.

Did not come with a cardboard outer sleeve. A generic protective cardboard sleeve will be provided.

Disc: NM-

GORGEOUS disc retains all of it’s original glossy sheen. Only the faintest wispy, superficial hairlines/sleeve removal traces are visible when tilted under bright light. No scratches or scuffs.

Inner: VG+

Original London advertising inner sleeve is crisp with no major creasing. Small seam splits have started in the side and bottom.

Insert: VG

Original track list sheet is printed on London Records stationery. Some small “chips” on the left side, light discoloration and creasing is visible. No major tears.

When Mr. Senn passed, his collection was acquired by my friend who has commissioned me to help sell them. There are thousands of records in the collection, almost all promotional copies in mint or close to mint condition.

Grading System:

SS (Still Sealed)

Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.)

M (Mint)

The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. (I will only use this grade on SEALED records that appear to be Mint as I believe any non-new, opened record cannot be truly called MINT.

NM (Near Mint)

A nearly perfect record. Any visible defects are of the type that "disappear" when the record is tilted under a strong light and they should not affect play. Sleeves in near mint condition will have no obvious signs of wear. Practically imperceptible ring wear may be allowed but no creases, seam-splits, or other easily detected flaws will be present.

EX (Excellent)

A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial signs of wear. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.

VG+ (Very Good Plus)

A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split.

VG (Very Good)

A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.

G (Good)

A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.

FA (Fair) and P (Poor)

These grades are for beat-up records. I will only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
