Description

Up for sale today is a copy of the Rolling Stones 2nd Album on Decca LK 4661 Released 1964 with iconic cover photo by the then groovy young photographer and cheeky east end boy David Bailey.  Sleeve printed by James Upton Ltd (see 6th scanned image) which indicates this is a first press along with the XARL 6619 1A Matrix.  The Vinyl seems to have been well looked after and although slightly crackly in places has no scratches just scuffs and does not show very much spindle wear and I am therefore putting vinyl in very good condition as it plays through beautifully with a powerful mono sound which leaves the CD (even the re-master) standing in my opinion. Most Stones LPs from the 60s were taken to parties and played to death - this record has not been played to excess but the cover has been manhandled a bit too much for the perfectionist collector.  The cover shows considerable signs of wear, staining and creasing and is in fair condition.  Back cover has the infamous 'blind man' text which I believe was all the idea of the Stones then manager and ideas man Andrew Oldham - it was then withdrawn and subsequent presses of the album have the offensive paragraph removed.  I have tried to be as honest as possible but please look at scans which should give you an idea of what you are getting should you win this LP.   In spite of this if you still don't think I have been truly honest when you receive the LP then I will offer a full refund but you must send it back to me 2nd class signed for which I think is fair.  Overseas buyers welcome - record will be sent to EBay Shipping Centre. Please note I have no control over the time involved or cost of sending the record to you using this method.  I will get it to the Ebay Shipping Centre within the time frame of 2 days but after that I am in the hands of Ebay.
