Description
Firstly, a sad admission. As a much younger collector I had the crazy idea that removing the zips from my TWO copies of this great album was a good idea. The logic was to protect the albums correctly stacked next to them in my cabinet. Looking at the value of UK 1971 first pressings is a little disappointing, to say the least. However, if having the zip not included is not a major issue then I am offering one of my copies for sale.
On offer, is a first press matrix A-4, B-3 on the Rolling Stones Records label. The first UK edition does NOT have the inscription ‘A Promotone N.V. RECORD’ on the labels (please see photos). The original, small metal zipper was removed by me (don’t ask why?) as explained above. All I can say, in my continuing aim for honesty, is that the cover and the album, along with the original insert, are all in excellent condition for their 1971 vintage. It is also worth mentioning, as with some of my other offerings, that my name is stamped in the corner of the back cover with a Dymo label, providing provenance that I purchased and kept the album for the last fifty three years.

Due to the lack of the unique zip I am offering this album for auction, not only as an original, first pressing but for the musical content. As always, in order to provide a genuine classification, I have play graded the whole album. There is a minor click at the start of Wild Horses and some light surface noise during I Got The Blues and Sister Morphine but, overall, I am happy to classify the album as EX. I have always looked after my albums by using the best cartridges I could afford at all times and you will not be disappointed with this very dynamic recording.
In essence, this album provides a great opportunity to buy an original Stones classic album which shows Mick Taylor’s great guitar playing technique on his first studio recording with the band.
All my albums are sent first class, using packaging to ensure secure transit and I always pay the difference by charging a minimum to the buyer.
