I successfully sold my copy of this great album recently - the buyer was highly satisfied, please see my feedback for reference (in February) - I have been asked by a friend to sell theirs, so here it is...
The Rolling Stones 'Sticky Fingers' 1971 UK original vinyl album on the Rolling Stones label, catalogue number COC 59100 (stereo)
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side 1: COC-59100-A4 A 4 (all stamped) T.M.L. ROLLING STONES RECORDS (hand written) Side 2: COC-59100-B4 A 2 (all stamped) T.M.L. ROLLING STONES RECORDS (hand written)
This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped as such but it does have a very minor edge 'blip' which has no affect on play at all. Both sides of the record have some light surface scratches and small marks, probably caused by bag movement and maybe one or two by light stylus contact, but I cannot feel any of them with light fingertip touch. The vinyl surfaces have a generally good appearance showing nothing that would suggest any problem, but when played there is from time to time light crackling which can be heard on many of the quieter sections. I have no idea what causes this, it may benefit from professional cleaning - but it does look quite clean anyway. As a result of this you will see below that I grade the audio between 'very good' and 'excellent' - so overall 'very good+' but this is NOT a record for those with a demand and expectation for high end audio performance. There are no sticks, no skips, no jumps - it plays well and is enjoyable and satisfactory.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels are in excellent condition, with just some light spindle lines - no writing, no damage.
The cover is the original notorious Andy Warhol design with the zip on the front and this is possibly one of the best examples you are likely to find - it is in absolutely first rate condition. It is completely intact, with the 'underpants' insert and a fully working zip, which does not show any sign of corrosion. The cover looks almost as new and the only two blemishes that hold it back from near perfect are a few tiny creases at the edges on the front and a small group of dot indents and a few indent lines just below the belt on the back - these are barely noticeable when viewed straight on, but can be seen easily when the cover is held at an angle under a light.
The spine is 'excellent+' fully readable, almost as new.
The insert with the Rolling Stones logo on one side, track titles and credits, and on the other side a group photo is also not very much different than it would have been when new.
The inner sleeve is plain cream paper, not lined, with a patent number and 'Made In Great Britain' printed on it. It is clean and tidy with no writing or major damage, but the seam is split in the centre on one side for about 6cms. (could easily be repaired). I think it is original, I cannot be sure.
I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say that the cover and insert are 'excellent+', the vinyl is visually 'very good+' and the audio ranges from 'very good' to 'excellent', so overall 'very good+' (please be aware of the crackling that I have already mentioned above).
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a strong record mailing box with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
