This is the rare 1st press uncensored sleeve of ’Some Girls’ by The Rolling Stones. This press is complete with the earliest A1-U / B-3U matrix, the original printed inner sleeve and Garrod & Lofthouse die-cut sleeve. The sleeve was later changed when the band were threatened with legal action after using images without permission. Subsequently Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, Liza Minnelli, Raquel Welch and Marilyn Monroe were removed from the sleeve and the Pardon Our Appearance text was used in their place.
The vinyl is in Very Good condition. There is a superb jet black gloss and no sign of heavy play however there is one tiny mark and a few wispy hairline marks. The labels are superb, the yellow is exceptionally bold and the black text is immaculate. There is just the very slightest spindle wear.
The glossy inner sleeve is in Excellent condition. The colours are bright and the images are sharp. There is a small scuff on the bottom edge otherwise the edges are firm and the whole sleeve is solid.
The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is exceptionally rich and vibrant. There are just a couple of very slight moments of noise and a click on the mark, but there is still Excellent separation and clarity throughout.
The sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. It is extremely clean and bright. The image is unworn, the cut-outs are sharp and the colours are vivid. There is just a faint mark in the top corner and a little corner wear. The spine is very firm with clear text.
