Description
Rolling Stones – THE ROLLING STONES. Early UK pressing (cover B2, label V). 1964. Decca LK 4605. Mono.
VINYL:VG+/VG++
Has been stored and unplayed for decades. No scratches, just a few very light surface scuff lines (see photos). Perfectly flat. Deep full sound. VERY quiet surface noise in run-in grooves, otherwise test play revealed absolutely no skips, sticks or clicks.

LABELS: VG+/EX-
No writing or tears.
Label variation V: the label rim reads on top 'Made in England. The Decca Record Co. Ltd.' The NCB (no full stops) and B.I.E.M. captions are on the right hand side on side A. On side B the BIEM caption is omitted and N.C.B. caption appears with full stops.
A few spindle marks and a slight discoloration on a small area of each label where there was once a small star-shaped sticker (see photos).
SLEEVE: VG+ / EX-
Perfectly intact cover and spine with no marks or writing.
This is cover variation B2: the back cover lists track 4 as ‘I Need You Baby’; the cover has no ‘flipbacks’, but the lamination is folded over from the front to the back cover in a small band.
Small 1.5cm tear half way down the left hand side of the back cover (see photo), but it has been repaired.
As with most laminated albums from this time, the laminate has separated from the card cover in places (see photos, which I have taken against the light to show this clearly). Please note the laminate is complete – it is not torn or damaged in any way.
For track A3 the sleeve credits ‘Reed’ and the label credits ‘Hurran-Calvert’.
INNER SLEEVE: EX
Original printed inner sleeve – has some creasing but no marks, rips or tears.
Lovely item. VERY difficult to find an early pressing of this great debut Rolling Stones album in such beautiful condition.
