Description
Delve into the raw energy of The Saints' 'Prehistoric Sounds', a rare UK original 1978 demo (“factory sample”) LP that captures the essence of punk and garage rock. This piece of musical history is presented in its authentic cardboard outer sleeve, with some moderate ring and edge wear, plus marks on the front where stickers have been removed, complete with the original inner sleeve, boasting a very good plus grading. The vinyl itself is a testament to the era, encoded with the distinctive sounds that defined a generation.
With its first pressing demo/factory sample status (see my photo of the “not for sale”stickered rear of sleeve), this record is not just a listening experience but a collector's treasure. The album, released under Harvest EMI, features the iconic first pressing matrix numbers A-1 B-1 and is framed by the stereo sound quality of the time. The lush black vinyl is spun at 33 RPM, it has just one short hairline on track 1 a short way into track 2 but having been fully test played this presents some barely audible faint clicks ensuring that the Garage Rock and New Wave stylings are delivered in full-bodied resonance. Other than this the rest of the vinyl is excellent condition.
