OK for your consideration we have:
Title: THE SECOND ALBUM By THE SPENCER DAVIS GROUP
Cat No: TL 5295 – mono
Issue: Original 1966 issue on the Black and Silver FONTANA Label
Vinyl Condition visual: The vinyl grades as VG to VG+; the vinyl has retained much of its gloss and sheen. The disc is clean overall with just a few light scratches and marks on both sides. Nothing too serious at all and all commensurate with age and with the grade allocated.
Vinyl Condition Playback: The vinyl grades as EX- ; Superb, virtually silent but not quite at the run-in, thereafter occasional and mostly mild static clicks and pops but nothing too drastic at all and all commensurate with grade. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable and there are no skips or jumps at all. A truly fab copy.
Label Condition: EX; as you can see in the pics minimal spindle marks and or other blemishes and no damage; all text is clean and legible.
Cover Front: The front cover Grades as EX-; the laminated heavy-card front has ex lamination and is a very clean and damage free example. Two mild creases and a few dings at the opening edge. A little ring wear is evident when held to the light but this is being super critical. Not seen better to be honest.
Cover Back: The unlaminated back cover is as for the front – excellent. The white areas are clean and damage free, no writing blemishes rips or tears at all. The pasted back is secure – a really superb example.
Spine: The spine is fab – excellent lamination and all text is clear and legible. No splits or issues at all.
Corners: VG; very minor bumps but essentially retaining squared-off corners.
Summary: A very nice example of this fab RnB/Soul/Beat album, great voice and musicianship as you’d expect from the SDG. Not scarce by any stretch of the imagination, however, if you’re in need of a copy of this fab UK 60s album this is the copy to have as it is overall EX as a package and would enhance most collections.
Postage: With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no-nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
