THE SENATORS - " SHE'S A MOD / LOT ABOUT YOU ", Dial Records (DSP 7001) 1964.
Extremely rare, WHITE LABEL TEST PRESSING of The Senators debut single from 1964.
Although it is a rare Brum Beat single in it's own right, this 7" is now much more famous for being the very first recording to be released of John Bonham... infact this test pressing would of predated the issued single, so this really is the first ever bit of vinyl ever to feature John Bonham on drums.

As my pictures clearly show, this record started out as a plain white test press with a plain white sleeve. But at some point a previous owner has written the record's details on one side of the record label and sleeve. I genuinely have know idea who did this or when... maybe it was even a band member, or a girlfriend they gave it to? This, plus the vinyl's condition (more on that below) will probably devalue this record somewhat... but, obviously a record like this has a value beyond just it's playback. Prior to listing this record, I have searched and searched for any info I can find on any other surviving test pressing of this record, but came up with nothing. For all I know, this could be the last surviving promo copy of this historically significant record. Particularly for serious Led Zeppelin collectors - this could be the rarest bit of vinyl you'll ever own.
Never before have I listed a record that is so hard to put a price on, so I will start the auction at just 99p and be happy with whatever I get for it.
CONDITION:
VINYL = GOOD (As in record collecting terms where good means anything but... both sides are covered in scrapes and scratches and the label is defaced. Actually this record plays a couple of grades better than it looks - there is some noise throughout and the vocals are a bit distorted, but it's not completely unlistenable either. If given a decent warning I could possibly record audio clips of this record... but as noted above, this record's value exists beyond it's playback credentials.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!)
