THE SERPENT POWER - The Serpent Power (Vanguard VSD79252) - LP - 1967
Tracks: Don't You Listen To Her, Gently Gently, Open House, Flying Away, Nobody Blues, Up And Down, Sky Baby, Forget, Dope Again, Endless Tunnel.
Original stereo pressing of The Serpent Power's eponymous LP, released on the Vanguard label in 1967. The vinyl retains a decent sheen with plenty of light and a few lightish surface marks, fine, light hairlines and some light scratches and scuffs - nothing too serious - see descriptions below. Not the cleanest copy, hence the low start price, though both sides do play through without sticking or jumping.
A-side: There is a light / lightish clicky lick of hiss on each rotation for the first 30 seconds, thereafter there is a very small / small improving to tiny amount of background surface noise with very small, small and some smallish pops and clicks plus an occasional moderate one. Grade - varies between G+ and VG+, mostly VG
B-side: There is a lightish / moderate clicky lick of hiss on each rotation for the first 70 seconds, thereafter there is a very small / small improving to tiny amount of background surface noise with very small, small and some smallish pops and clicks plus an occasional moderate one. Grade - varies between G and VG+, mostly VG
Labels: Both labels are near pristine (see scan).
Sleeve: There is wear to the edges and corners, an 8cm split to the bottom edge, some lightish creasing, a punched hole in the top right corner and some rubbing and staining to the back cover.
