Description
For the first time on ebay: the original Uruguay mono pressing of this South American psychedelic masterpiece on Odeon(LDX-304). Fragile sleeve is in VG+ condition. The record is VG condition. Unfortunately it has a heatmark in the best (and most psychedelic) track: Espero que les guste (I hope you like it). That track is not included on the Brazilian pressing that is usually offered. Check it out:
SUPER RARE ORIGINAL Uruguay pressing of Uruguay's BEST popsike band Los Shakers' second album, FOR YOU, from 1966. If their first album found them steeped in the original Beatles British Invasion sounds, FOR YOU shows them to be big fans of RUBBER SOUL and REVOLVER. Heck, they even cover "Yellow Submarine" here! The rest of the songs, however, are all theirs - another rarity in Latin American bands, but if anyone had the songwriting skills to pull this off, Los Shakers were the band. "Nunca Nunca" shows off their bossa nova heritage in a popsike style, its swinging loungey Spanish suave flair sounding like a fledgling Argentinian version of the Strawberry Alarm Clock. And the great "Muito Tarde" sounds like vintage Hollies with perfect harmonies. They'd go on to record their Sergeant Pepper, a masterpiece called TOTO'S BAR SECRET CONFERENCE. But this is clearly their RUBBER SOUL.
