THE SORROWS
PIP WHITCHER, BRUCE FINLEY, WEZ PRICE, DON MAUGAM, PHILIP PACKHAM
One of the most overlooked bands of the British Invasion, the Sorrows offered a tough brand of R&B-infused rock
that recalled the Pretty Things (though not as R&B-oriented) and the Kinks (though not as pop-oriented).
Their biggest British hit, "Take a Heart," stopped just outside the U.K. Top 20

RECORD
Side A: track 1 VG(+); track 2, 4, 5 VG+;
track 3, 4 VG [heavy scratches (exp. track 3),
because of heavy line starting in the middle on A/3 and finishing in the middle on A/4]
Side B: NEAR EX (please, read above description)
SLEEVE VG(+) but (please, see pictures and read above description)
Summarizing:
tracks A1 & A2 from VG(+) to VG+....light clicks but great and clear sound
tracks A5 & A6, and all the 2nd side are from Near EX to EX condition, playing wonderfully.
Problems come, as stated and shown on the advertisement, with A3 & A4:
starting from the middle on A/3 (at the end of the instrumental break)
and ending on the middle on A/4 (when they start to sing again).
I played the album using two different turntables: the record plays without jumps.
On A3, we have more noise and heavy tac; VG+ for the first side and VG- for the second.
On A4 there are regular strong/dry clicks (tac) that fade toward the middle of the track;
so VG for the first part and Near Ex for the second.
And, of course, don't forget the worn lower spine.
Records aged like this are die-hard, printed very well with virgin and thick vinyl
More than this i can't say
One of the best obscure British Invasion records...(AllMusic)
