BIM BAM / CLEMENTINE ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by THE SOUND OF JIMMY NICOL. Original UK pressing on the DECCA label (F. 12107), from 1965. Cult, funky R&B hammond twister led by the one time session drummer for The Beatles. BIM BAM is an underground mod soul anthem with infectious vocals a la Georgie Fame / rawkus drum breaks and tittyshaker style horn section. Great for DJs. The CLEMENTINE side is also superb. Very moody with cool lead vocals over jazzy blue beat rhythms. Vocals on this recording by Tony Allen (future member of Brit jazz rock band "If") and hammond organ by Ugly Custard / Nick Ingman Terminator and Serge Gainsbourg Histoire de Melody Nelson session man, Roger Coulam. Original 4-prong centre intact. Seldom comes up for sale, especially in near archive condition like this copy. Rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG

Vinyl is close to shiny M- condition with a few light hairlines from sleeve removal. Taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. Record housed in original Decca label custom sleeve. Archive sticker and archive number in pen (front and back). Sleeve has wear and creasing. Rare 45!!!
