Description
THE STRANGLERS - BLACK AND WHITE - U.S.A GREY MARBLED VINYL "PROMO" ALBUM.
Fantastic U.S.A marbled PROMO vinyl A&M pressing of the Black and White album from one of the most creative and menacing punk band's of all time.
The Stranglers just didn't care, in true punk style they crashed from late 70's punk rock into the 80's new romantic scene and beyond, never compromising and ever changing while retaining their devoted fan base.
They upset the moral majority with their Duchess video, graced top of the pops more times than I care to remember and just kept on going.
This third album from the band caught critics and fans alike off guard it was the start of a new direction for the band and is crammed full of songs that became fan faves.
The album captures the strange dark and brooding energy of the original band and features some unique , different and essential recordings performed by the classic lineup, the Stranglers were always interesting that's for sure.
A couple of changes to note with this USA PROMO issue, obviously this is pressed on a lovely grey marbled vinyl that is very striking, one label is black and one is white, and both labels are PROMO Marked, also Toiler On The Sea is miss credited on the label as Toiler 'OF' The Sea so quite uniquely different to its UK counterpart.
The sleeve itself has the addition of Promotional stickers and the usual import drill hole through sleeve and inner, a practice no longer used as far as I know.
The sleeve is in good overall condition for its age with some light ring and age related storage wear, the inner lyric sleeve was printed on medium paper stock so not as hard wearing as the card one used in the UK, this has a three inch split in the bottom.
Record is now housed in an anti static lined paper sleeve (included with the sale) to prevent any further splitting.
The vinyl retains a very good sheen and under bright light I can't see anything that should affect play so yeah the record is looking lovely.
A very decent playable and very rare U.S.A PROMO import copy of a must have Stranglers album for any serious Stranglers / Punk rock collector.
Grab it while you have the chance, Sold with no reserve.
