Description
THE SYN Created By Clive / Grounded UK 45 w/ Dutch PS
Super rare and almost impossible to find UK 45 with Dutch picture sleeve! "Grounded" is one of the best UK freakbeat tracks known to man.
Other side "Created by clive" is a better version than the Attack's I think. Featuring Chris Squire and Peter Banks who went on to join prog giants Yes. Fantastic record with a killer flipside!
The original UK (export?) single was released in The Netherlands with a totally unique art sleeve. It's the UK pressing housed in a Dutch cover (normal those days for most DERAM records), that is the way it was released in the Netherlands. The UK record only is pretty rare but with the original Dutch sleeve it's an impossible to find item!
A rare opportunity to obtain an extremely collectable 45 originally released in 1967. This is one of those records that everybody wants for the B side. "Grounded" is a superb track that appeals to collectors of both freakbeat and psychedelic pop and is in a similar style to singles by The Who and The Small Faces released at this time. The A side has a sort of "Dedicated Follower Of Fashion" vibe but it's hit potential was scuppered when a rival version by The Attack was released on Decca - Derams own parent lable! They should've made "Grounded" the top side. With it's swirling organ, nifty guitar work and brilliant harmonies it might have made the charts - then there would have been more copies to go around!
Original UK pressing on the Deram label (DM 130) from 1967. It comes in the Dutch only unique picture sleeve.
