Post-Brexit crisis so records must go. See my other auctions for more of the same.
What is it?
The Times - Pop Goes Art! (Whaam!, LP 01) - hand-painted sleeve!
The fab first LP proper by Ed Ball and the Times - possibly featuring Dan Treacy of the Television Personalities at this stage. It has I Helped Patrick McGoohan Escape on and classics like It's Time and Biff! Bang! Pow! on. I would enthuse more but I have been listing records all day and tiredness is kicking in. The sleeves for these were all spray painted by hand. I have seen a few that were obviously done with felt tip, but this is not one of them. It's amazing. I have also listed the Go With The Times LP and the TVPs Mummy Your Not Watching Me which would make a pretty epochal bundle if you are in the mood.
Condition
Sleeve: VG: Tiny bit grubby but hardly surprising since these sleeves are cheap and crappy. Rumour has it that you can clean these things up by rubbing them with white bread, but - since I am from North London, where we eat nothing but spelt-laced wholegrain - I haven't tried that out. Track listing is pasted to the back.
Record: EXCELLENT: It has been played but very gently. I am geeky and treat my records nice. Incidentally, my principle (commercial suicide as it may be) is never to grade as MINT unless I know for an absolute fact that the record has never been played before.
TRUST MY GRADINGS; I worked in a top London collector's shop for years, and my VG is most people's MINT on eBay.
I recycle packaging when possible; it's cheap and also the right thing to do, people.
