THE UNDERDOGS (PIG, MANN & EDWARDS) - WASTING OUR TIME
A brilliant copy of this long deleted 1970 psych gem rarity with truly excellent excellent sound quality throughout
The condition of the vinyl is a strong very good plus (VG+), bordering on excellent - the vinyl has retained a nice jet black sheen with just a few small and extremely light surface-only scuff lines with each being non-feelable, nothing below the surface and not impinging upon the excellent sound quality. There is a tiny white(ish) speck on the side 2 vinyl (just left of the label - see photo), I think caused by manufacturing, which is non-feelable and again does not impact upon the sound quality at all. Very good plus (VG+) condition labels with the only blemishes being some small and extremely light spindle trails on each and some light scuff marks brought about by decades of upright storage no doubt. Each label has the circular 1st press deep groove and all label text is crisp and clear. Note that it is only the small label scuff marks which prevent me from grading the overall condition of the vinyl as "excellent", because the vinyl itself is undoubtedly excellent! Excellent (EX) condition original 1st press laminated outer sleeve, with all edges firm and completely devoid of any scuff marks. The 1st press "pinched ends" spine remains firm, completely unblemished and with all spine text remaining perfectly intact. Each corner remains a near perfectly defined right angle with barely any rubbing at all and the opening edges also remain firm with no fraying. The reverse side flipbacks remain in great shape and all colours, art work, and sleeve text remain beautifully intact with clear and crisp definition. There is no laminate lifting either. The only blemishes (too strong a word!) are a couple of very light 1cm vertical laminate creases adjacent and perpendicular to the spine and some extremely light handling/storage wear which is only just visible even when held at the right angle in a good light. Excellent plus (EX+) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, distortion or background crackle - really hard to fault in any way with crystal clear stereo sound quality and every track remaining a great listen. No wonder 1st pressings of this brilliant LP are so highly sought after. Comes with new plain white die-cut sleeve. A truly excellent condition copy of this 1970 New Zealand psych gem - there cannot be many better condition copies than this!

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
