THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO Torso MONO 1st U.S. WEST COAST 1967 BANANA Warhol

900

THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO Torso MONO 1st U.S. WEST COAST Pressing as indicated by the "Side A and Side B" indicators, East Coast pressings featured Side 1 and Side 2.

The fade-in on "Venus In Furs" is another indicator. West coast pressing featured a louder cut than East coast pressings which serves this title right as Verve did not use the best quality vinyl for this release, so surface wear is more evident on East Coast pressings.

Eric Emerson TORSO back cover image indicating a 1st pressing before the image was censored with a sticker then airbrushed out.

MONO mix which is the format this record should be listened to!!!! The mix is especially beneficial to the 1966 tracks like "I'll be Your Mirror".

VINYL in VG condition, very strong and closer to VG+ in most cases. "Heroin" is a good test song as it has a lot of quieter segments, this copy is excellent, the background crackle does not interfere with the listening experience!! There is some moments of slight groove wear like on loud segments like the guitar solo at end of "Sunday Morning", and the end of "I'll Be Your Mirror".

COVER in G+/VG condition, features full banana, there is some wear at the tip (see photos), and looks like it was partially removed then put back. Banana has some wrinkling in middle. Crease along spine, spine is fully readable, back edge has split along edge in middle, corner has paper starting to come off.

Front section of gatefold has chipping/fraying on top seam with 4" split from the spine. Bottom seam strong, outside seam has some chipping in middle and at the spine.

Back section of gatefold split all the way on top seam, bottom seam intact with some chipping starting in middle (see photo details).

Back cover looks great, some wear in middle. Inner gatefold excellent with yellowing, inside seam splitting 4".

INNER SLEEVE Verve inner in G+ with yellowing/staining, corner creases, two sides are split in middle, one side split from the opening to almost the bottom

Notes:

Mono. First pressing with Emerson Torso image upside down on the back cover. Banana sticker on front.
