Description
Rare, highly collectable early 70s Verve Records stereo repress of the classic VU debut album. This is the first USA pressing with a printed banana instead of the original peelable banana on the awesome Andy Warhol gatefold cover design. This repress uses the same vinyl stampers and mastering as the original 1967 Verve stereo pressing, so you are still getting the wonderful original 60s sound of this legendary record in all its raw, ragged glory. The only real difference being the printed banana (the original peelable covers going for crazy prices, of course).
Matrix/runout info: Side A: V6-5008 Side 1 MGS-558-REV Side B; V6-5008 Side 2 MGS-559-RE-1
VPI cleaned and play tested, in amazing condition for its age. Looks barely ever played, the thick vinyl is still in strong VG+/NM- condition, plays excellent, almost like new, very clean throughout. The classic gatefold cover is in strong VG+ condition, only some very light staining to the white front cover, looks great (again, especially for is age, and its very white cover design, these are usually stained very brownish).
Packed and shipped with care. You can combine any records I am selling for a significant shipping discount. Thanks.
