Description
THE VELVET UNDERGROUND S/T 3rd album Closet Mix 1st U.S. pressing from 1969 on MGM Records. ASCAP Edition West Coast LA California pressing plant. This is the first mix completed by Lou Reed before subsequent editions that have a different mix and alternate version of "Some Kinda Love". John Cale remarked of the mix at the time that Lou Reed sounded like "He was singing in a closet" hence the nickname. This copy was fully test played before listing to determine an accurate grade.
Vinyl in VG, there are hairlines that cause some crackle, there are a few small sections of crackle/distortion in a few louder segment in "What Goes On" a few of the louder areas where the guitar solos are lasting a few seconds. Also in "Jesus" in the 3 choruses there is the same crackle/distortion for a few seconds, not a big issue in my opinion, still a very enjoyable listen despite these issues, most sections could pass for VG+.
Cover in G+ with ring wear, seam/spine wear but no splits or paper loss, there is a section of the back bottom area where the paper is starting to lift up and there is a section of paper loss (see photo detail).
Inner sleeve is a Diskeeper replacement, will be safely packed and shipped Priority 2 Day Mail for free.
