Description
You are bidding on an original first press of the classic 1968 album White Light/White Heat by The Velvet Underground.
The sleeve reads There She Comes Now (instead of the correct Here She Comes Now), credits Lou Reed as Lead Guitar and has Cover Concept: Andy Warhol. These three 'errors' are only found on the first 1968 pressings. It is a stereo East Coast pressing. The matrix numbers in the runout are V6-5046 SIDE 1 MGS-1258 and V6-5046 SIDE 2 MGS-1259.
The classic 'tattoo' sleeve is in superb condition. There is minimal ringwear to the front and rear. There is a little wear to the top left corner. Otherwise the sleeve is absolutely perfect. The spine is strong and square. The sleeve is very clean. It is one of the best 1960s copies of this sleeve you will find. Overall I would grade it as Excellent Minus.
The vinyl is visually graded as Excellent Plus. It retains its original glossy sheen and is virtually unmarked, with only slight marks on side two.
I have played the record on a high quality turntable and would grade the sound as Excellent Plus. There are no skips or jumps and virtually no surface noise.
The blue Verve Records labels are graded as Excellent Plus. There are a few spindle marks and they are very clean.
The record come with a new white inner sleeve.
This is probably one of the best first stereo pressings around.
