Description

The Wailers with Bob Marley - Catch A Fire - Original 1973 first press U.K. Vinyl LP On Island Records, ILPS 9241, with legendary 'Zippo' lighter-shaped flip-top sleeve original Island Records pink rim and A3/B4 first press matrix.

Matrix / Runout side A is stamped STERLING, BML 2001 A-3U, (which is crossed out) and ILPS 9241 A-3U

Matrix / Runout side B is stamped, BML 2001 B-4U (which is crossed out), ILPS 9241 B-4U and STERLING.

Rare. Only the original pressing of 20,000 were issued with the Zippo cover.

This early edition cover has no Island records address below the logo to rear of cover. The very first press sleeve has Basing Street address on the rear cover under the Island logo.

The cover is well worn with heavy rubbing at the edges and corners. The rotating Zippo outer flip top has become detached from the hinge on the lower section. Otherwise complete. Supplied with the original, plain white inner, folded at four corners.

The disc is used, in good condition and plays with a great sound. There is the very occasional click and pop but there are no serious scratches and it does not jump, skip, stick and is not warped.
