Description

I have been an obsessive collector of vinyl LP's and singles for many years, and from the very first I have always been very careful about the condition of the records I have bought. Once in my posession the records have been well stored and always very carefully handled. If the records have been played at all, it has always been on a good quality hi - fi system, the deck being a Linn LP12 deck with a top of the range arm and cartridge.

As a result, most of the many thousands of items in my collection are in excellent condition or better.

Now, in order to create more space at home, I have decided to cut the collection back to a core of my personal favourite artistes, and to dispose of the remainder. These I intend to list for auction over the coming months.

For auction here is a really rare UK stereo copy of the LP by 'The Web' entitled 'Theraphosa Blondi' on Deram, number SML-R1058. This LP was realeased in 1969.

To come across a copy of this album in any condition is mighty unusual, but to see one in this condition is just fantastic, just look at my pictures, lush or what?.

The laminated cover is pretty close to perfect, with some minor bumping to the bottom left corner. The unlaminated rear of the cover has no ringwear and has only the very barest of age toning. The photo of the cover was taken in my conservatory which has lightened the photo somewhat as the cover is so good it is highly reflective and bounced a lot of light back.

The lined blue Deram inner sleeve is present and except for minor creasing and a little toning is again in great condition.

The vinyl is clean and bright without the slightest hint of marks that I could find, even in strong edgewise lighting. Neither could I detect any spindle hole wear on either label, both of which look like new.

This is an absolute stunner of a copy, which on play has perfect sound fidelity with no signs of previous use. It plays silent except for the odd light crackle, probably caused by dust particles. I repeat there is no surface noise from play.

I would rate this EX/EX++, many would go M-.

It is offered at no reserve and considering the rarity and desirability of this LP at a very low opening bid price.
