Description
The Who: "My Generation" 1965, UK/Brunswick LAT8616 Mono. Disc has some sleeve lines, plays almost perfectly M- but gets a VG+ visual grade. Side A label has some pink fingernail polish and a discreet name. Cover has a few creases and the unlaminated rear panel is soiled, so this gets a VG grade. Rareassed UK original has a longer version of "The Kids Are Alright" than appears on any other vinyl release to my knowledge. No one remembers this obscure 60s band now, but they certainly had potential and really should have made a few more records before quitting the music biz. A catchy name, one can only imagine what their various LPs might have been called... "Who's The Loudest?" (Live LP), "Who He Am Which Only To The H" (Prog LP), "Who Farted?" (Punk LP), etc. The possiblities were endless! There was some scuttlebutt going around in the old days about the guitar player's nose having magic powers but most considered it one of those "urban legends". Tragically, some of them died before they got old... probably the result of hanging around the local chemical dump as documented in the cover pic. Have a look at the photos below. Grading is strict and all items are guaranteed. There is no reserve! Be sure to check out my other auctions for more stuff like this!
POSTAGE AND PACKING NOTES FOR ALL CUSTOMERS: A percentage of my shipping charges are for the box and insert pad(s); I use RIGID CARDBOARD BOXES MADE FOR MAILING RECORDS, I don't use those free cheapo boxes the Post Office hands out, or those worthless padded bags! Also, I will never mail you an album with the record still inside the jacket! I'll even take the same precautions with company and printed inner sleeves. PLEASE NOTE: I have set my shipping prices to cover my cost on an average basis. Your box may cost me a bit less to mail than I charged you, or a bit more. Records and jackets don't all weigh the same amount, therefore I can't set a "perfect" price for everyone, ESPECIALLY INTERNATIONAL! The price for mailing one album to Europe can vary by as much as $3.00.
POSTAGE RATES USA: 1 album by Priority Mail is $6.00, 2 albums is $7.50. Media Mail is slower, slightly less expensive and much more likely to arrive damaged. 1-2 albums by Media Mail is $4.00. I will quote you rates for larger orders. If you want me to double-box your order for extra protection, ask me to quote you a price.
INSURANCE RATES USA: If your item is worth under $50, there is a "cheap" insurance available for $1.30. This type of insurance offers no security; the postman can leave this package behind with your other mail. "Real" insurance that requires a signature at your end for delivery is available for the following rates: $0-$100, $2.20. $101-$200, $3.20. $201-$300, $4.20. I've never lost a package in the USA, but a couple have been damaged and the insurance paid off. Loss or damage is your responsibility once the box is in the mail, so consider the insurance...
FOREIGN POSTAGE RATES: I do not recommend Surface Mail and will not offer you rates here. The following rates are for uninsured Airmail: CANADA: 1 album: $6.00. 2 albums, $7.00. MEXICO, U.K., EUROPE, SOUTH AMERICA, ASIA, AUSTRALIA, N.Z.: 1 album, $12.00. 2 albums, 14.00. I will quote a price to any customer with a larger order. If you want me to double-box your order for extra protection, ask me to quote you a price. If your package is valuable, Registered Mail is available to most countries. Registration is an additional $8.00 on any parcel. I recommend Registered mail for all parcels to Italy & Mexico but all orders are carefully packed and are rarely lost or damaged!
