Description
I successfully sold my copy of this great album at the beginning of January - the Buyer was highly satisfied, please see my first feedback entry for reference - I have been asked by a friend to sell theirs, so here it is...
The Who 'A Quick One' 1966 UK original vinyl album on the Reaction blue textured label, catalogue number 593002 (mono)
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side One: 593002 A//1 1 7 Side Two: 593002 B//2 1 1 5
This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped. Both sides of the record have quite a lot of small surface scratches and bag marks, but I can't feel any of them. In my experience this is quite an amazing record in terms of sound quality. On Side One, track 1, 'Run Run Run' , there is some intended distortion but on all other tracks the sound quality is so clear it's remarkable. There is light underlying surface sound, but this is a vinyl that demonstrates just how good vinyl and mono recording was in terms of retaining sound quality during this era of pressing. There are some faint random ticks but, overall, this is a brilliant record. There are no sticks, no skips, no jumps, and if you like The Who's music, you will LOVE this.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels have quite a lot of spindle lines, light scuffing around the spindle holes, which is quite common I think with textured labels, and there's a tiny spot on Side One, but no writing, no damage.
The cover is a standard single sleeve which is coated all over (front and back) by a clear laminate. On the front there are plenty of short creases on the edges and five thumb creases near the open edge. On the back there are less of the short creases at the edges, but there are some longer surface creases along the top corners and the bottom right corner. There is slight surface rubbing, but the laminate still retains a very good gloss and it lays very flat, there is only a little corner rubbing.
The spine is excellent, it's very thin from new, but fully intact and fully readable, with just a little rub wear at the tips of the ends and a few tiny cross creases.
The inner sleeve is the original - plain cream and poly-lined, just slightly discoloured. No seam splits, just one small tear at the back window.
I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say the cover is 'very good' and although the appearance of the record is only just about 'very good', the quality of the audio is very nearly 'excellent'.
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a record mailing box (cruciform) with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
