THE WHO - JAI' BABA FOR PETES SAKE.

MOON RECORDS, SERIAL NUMBER 9-7-78 (The date of Keith Moon's Death).

Released in 1982, This album has always been one that the Who "Completist" had difficulty finding. I know because It took me over 4 years to obtain an acceptable copy. The reason it was / is so sought after is the obvious references to Keith Moon (Moon Records, the serial number). It contains demo's and out-takes, and is a soundboard recording from the studio, except tracks 3,4 and 5 on side 1 which are live. It originally came with a 12 page supplemental booklet, containing some excellent photographs, brief history of the band, and the band members likes and dislikes (Keith Moon - HOBBIES ~ "Looning", FAVOURITE FOOD ~ "French Blues", BIGGEST BREAK IN CAREER~ "3000 pairs of sticks") and so on. This album comes complete with the Booklet, and what's more it's in fantastic condition! Still flat and shiny, with just the minimum of age spotting! Here's the tracklistings as they appear on the booklet and centre labels.

SIDE 1 - EARLY MORNING COLD TAXI - CAN'T TELL A NOTE FROM A SYMPHONY - CAN'T EXPLAIN - HAPPY JACK - I'M A BOY - DON'T PRETEND YOU KNOW ME.

SIDE 2 - THAT GLITTERING GIRL - DON'T LOOK AWAY - RUN RUN RUN - TO KILL MY APPETITE - DO THE STRIP.

Here's the gradings.

The sleeve is a thick card type. The front shows a photo of the Band in the studio, and one of them playing live. It also shows the cartoon images of the Band that have appeared over the years on various sleeves. It's solid, uncreased with sharp opening edges. The minimum of age discolouring, slightest of corner dings (see photos). The back lists the tracks, in the wrong order, and advises "see enclosed booklet for exact order". In much the same condition as the front. The spine and edges are totally solid, no damage at all, all words perfectly clear. Sleeve grades Excellent.

The booklet is clean, flat, still glossy. No tears or creases, just the tiniest amount of age spots to the front and rear. Barely visible. (see photos, taken with a 12 MP camera). Again, Excellent.

The vinyl is UNPLAYED! Clean and glossy, no scratches at all. The faintest paper scuff imaginable, from taking it out of the inner sleeve. NO spindle marks! The label is as new on both sides.

It is without doubt the finest copy of this extremely rare record you could hope to find. If you are a collector looking for a copy of this album, I assure you that this is the one for you!
