The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega Planar 3 turntable fitted with an Elys cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. Any significant playing defects will be detailed in the description below. I know how disappointing it is to receive a record graded as excellent, only to find that listening pleasure is spoiled by endless pops, loud clicks and intrusive background crackle. I guarantee that you will not buy such a record from me!!
The winning bidder can expect to receive a clean record, carefully packaged, with the vinyl removed from the inner and outer sleeves to prevent splits in transit.
Here for auction is an exceptional example of the iconic album by THE WHO titled “LIVE AT LEEDS”, Catalogue Number 2406 001. This is an ORIGINAL 1971 UK PRESSING on the TRACK RECORD LABEL, which comes COMPLETE WITH ALL 12 INSERTS, including the elusive POSTER. Extremely difficult to find in the superb condition offered here!!
The fragile card gatefold sleeve is in EXCELLENT CONDITION (strictly graded). The text on the front is red. It lies perfectly flat and shows very little loss of condition. The front and back covers are unmarked with only a few very light creases near the edges. There is a faint ring outline on the front. The opening gatefold spread is also in excellent shape. The 2 internal pockets are fully intact. The staples securing the pockets at the edges are firmly attached with no surrounding damage. The edges and corners show only very light wear from handling. The slim spine is in excellent condition. There are no rips, stickers or writing. Overall a superb example of this extremely fragile sleeve!!
The beautiful Track vinyl retains a deep mirror-like shine and sits flat and true on the turntable. Visually in NEAR MINT CONDITION (EXCELLENT+ for the hyper critical), with just a few very light wispy sleeve removal type surface marks evident under bright light. These are of course purely superficial and of no audio significance. The BEAUTIFUL WHITE TRACK LABELS WITH BLUE PRINT are stunning - completely unmarked with barely any spindle traces at all. There is no wear around the spindle hole. I am confident that the record has not been played many times.
PLAYGRADE ASSESSMENT:
This is a particularly raw and vibrant recording which sounds sensational played at loud volume. Both sides play superbly with all frequencies crystal clear and a minimum of unwanted noise. You’ll struggle to find a better playing copy!!
The 12 INSERTS, including the FOLD-OUT POSTER are in NEAR MINT CONDITION, apart from 2 which have one small corner crease each.
Complete with the original plain white inner sleeve which is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, with no splits or tears, just a small number code written in the top corner.
ORIGINAL TRACK PRESSINGS OF LIVE AT LEEDS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION AND COMPLETE WITH ALL 12 INSERTS ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - DON’T MISS THIS ONE!!!
