THE WHO

“MEATY BEATY BIG AND BOUNCY”

WOW!!! MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original Polydor Records very first Stereo press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1973 by DISCOS PHILIPS (Philips Records), catalog number 2383 082, licensed from the Deutsche Grammophon Ges., Germany, with orange/black Polydor Records labels, with hand etched matrix numbers 2383-082-A EB-CD in Side 1 and 2383-082-B EB-CD in Side 2. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!! Almost impossible to find!!! And see the picture, this record is in superb condition!!!

“MEATY BEATY BIG AND BOUNCY”, originally released in 1971, was and still is a great album, but we had to wait until 1973 to see this compilation album released here in Chile and, like in most of the cases of that period, we were lucky enough to get an UNIQUE COVER!!! In Chile, the cover is made of single piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle, with a paper attached to the cardboard (glued at the mouth edge), so 3 sides are open and kept together for an outer plastic bag and as you can see we also got an UNIQUE ARTWORK DESIGN!!! The front cover keeps strictly the original picture sleeve but in Chile it’s totally pink coloured (!!!) with only the name of the band in white lettering. Back cover is totally different, plain white with all lettering in pink colour too, album title written in English only and tracklist written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for all songwriters and timing of each song. In labels the album title is also written in English only with tracklist written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters, but no timing for the songs.

Yes, yes, yes… Here it’s a REAL FIND, another rarity from Chile!!! How many times have you seen this record in eBay before? Yes, you can count them with the fingers of only one hand! Extremely rare and almost impossible to find this very first press released here in Chile, The Who’s “Meaty Beaty Big And Bouncy”, with a complete pink coloured cover!!! And let me tell you, it’s absolutely the best copy you will find in a long long long time, if you lucky enough to see another copy again… But this MEGARARE PRESS also hides some interesting errors, the timing of each song is a bit different from the original album, as you can see and compare in this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meaty_Beaty_Big_and_Bouncy. The name of the song “Magic Bus”, an extended mix in fake Stereo, is misspressed “THE MAGIC BUS”, with extra “The”. And the names of the members Roger Daltrey and John Entwistle are misspelt in both back cover and labels Roger DALTRY and John ENTWHISTLE!!! WOW!!! UNIQUE ERRORS WORLDWIDE!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX+ or NM- condition, clean and clear, no missing parts, no rips, no ring marks, minimal creases, no blemishes, some extremely minimal age browning in back cover, more evident in the mouth edge, and minimal wear in the corners. The record is in superb EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with very light hairlines and scuffs hard to see, which of course don’t affect sound at all. Labels on both sides are in NM or NM+ condition, absolutely clean and clear with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is really fabulous, it’s in EX or EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some very occasional light crackles here and there which don’t distract at all, from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, most of the songs plays in absolute NM condition. Overall, this record is still in a very nice condition, with still a nice clean and complete cover, a record with almost immaculate labels and superb sound quality after more than 40 years, with no distortions, no skips, no repetitions at all, a record which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And keep in mind the UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE PINK COLOR and UNIQUE ERRORS!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT TO READ

We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.
