Another from my personal collection from a collection of over 50,000 albums that I have accumulated over the last 45 years or more! Here on offer is a very difficult to find original 1st UK pressing of The Who's debut album released in 1965. This album is complete and in incredible condition for a 47 years old album! The album has been stored in a case and the vinyl separated from the cover for protection over the last 35 years or more this is how I have always stored my records! I have carefully played and listened to the vinyl track for track three times prior to this listing at very loud volume and importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge! The first thing to note is that the vinyl has obviously had very little play in my personal opinion, possibly no more than a hand full of plays, it certainly hasn't been played in the last 35 years prior to this listing! The audio is cristal clear and very vibrant through out almost plays as a new vinyl in my opinion, there was no signs of distortion or any groove ware through out! Super super vibrant deep bassey sound only heard or found like this on the original monos!  There are no loud clicks or pops during the audio through out. Please note to be highly critical there were just two isolated light pops in between tracks in one place only, but nothing that effected the awesome audio quality perhapes the odd very very light static/ tick possibly heard hear and there but not really noticable when played at normal levels! I was blown away by this album and it is very rare to find like this! I would grade the audio quality at least excellent plus to near mint throughout! The album is complete with the original Robert Stace laminated front only cover in at least excellent to excellent plus condidion in my opinion! This cover is very fragile and flimsy by nature and extreemely difficult to keep in ggod condition! Fortunately the vinyl has been kept and stored seperately from the cover in the last 35 years or more and has helped to preserve this cover from the usual nasty ringware impressions that are so commonly seen on these. Any general ware is light only to mention, at the rear top in the form of rubbing only. Amaizingly there is no real creases in the laminate or nast impressions to mention I would grade the cover at least ecellent to excellent plus in my opinion and no splits or tares a great specimen! One of the most collectable albums to find like this, not only collectable but sought after by avid Who lovers!

My Generation is the debut album by English rock band The Who, released by Brunswick Records in the UK in December 1965. In the US, it was released by Decca Records as The Who Sings My Generation in April 1966, with a different cover and a slightly altered track listing.

The album was made immediately after the Who got their first singles on the charts and according to the booklet in the Deluxe Edition, it was later dismissed by the band as something of a rush job that did not accurately represent their stage performance of the time. On the other hand, critics often rate it as one of the best rock albums of all time: in 2003, the album was ranked number 236 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, and named the second greatest guitar album of all time by Mojo magazine. In 2004, it was #18 in Q magazine's list of the 50 Best British Albums Ever. In 2006, it was ranked #49 in NME's list of the 100 Greatest British Albums. In 2004, the title track was #11 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. In 2006, "The Kids Are Alright" was #34 in Pitchfork's list of the 200 greatest songs of the 1960s.

The UK release featured a cover image of the band standing beside some oil drums and looking upward to the camera, with splashes of colour added by the red and blue stencilled letters of the title and a jacket patterned after the Union Flag thrown over John Entwistle's shoulders. For the US release this was replaced with a portrait of the band standing beneath Big Ben.

The UK mono album was briefly reissued in Britain in 1979 by Virgin Records, during the height of the country's Mod revival. The bands of that scene owed a direct debt to The Who for inspiration, and the younger generations of their fans were keen to explore those original influences. This pressing of the album went out of print in 1980, meaning there was no official UK edition of "My Generation" again available until the Deluxe edition remaster of 2002.

In 2002 the album was remixed into stereo and remastered for a Deluxe edition. This was the first time any of these songs had seen a stereo release.[9] While sounding clearer in stereo, this edition omits many overdubs that are prominent in the original mono mixes, notably the lead guitar parts in "A Legal Matter" and "My Generation" (though both songs in their mono mixes close disc 2) and the double tracked vocals in "The Good's Gone", "Much Too Much", "La-La-La Lies" and "The Kids Are Alright". In 2008 the album's original UK mono mix was remastered for the Japanese market, appearing in limited numbers as a double-CD box set and a regular single CD album. Both variations included bonus tracks recorded in 1965.

The Vinyl

On visual inspection the vinyl lays perfectlt flat on the turntable and is free of any warps! Initially it is hard for me to see a blemish on the playing surface and there are certainly no marks or scratches that would cause any loud clicks or pops during the audio! Only if looked at under a harsh light could possibly any light surface marks or sleeve removal type scuffs possibly be seen, again at least nothing that would seem to have an adverse effect on the audio quality at least no loud clicks or pops during the audio play! Stunning sounding copy!

The Audio Quality

I have played the vinyl three times prior to this listing at very loud volume on a top system,, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge. The audio is cristal clear and very vibrant throughout! no signs of distortion or that this has been overplayed, in fact it is my opinion that this vinyl has barely had a handful of plays only! This almost plays as new vinyl in my opinion and I think that it would be difficult to find a better sounding vinyl. All levels are picked up on my system clean, lear and vibrancy that can only be found on these original monos which in my opinion can not be beaten by any other format available anywhere! Please note to be highly critical I heard two light pops only on the silent part in between tracks on side 2 only but I must emphesize not during the audio! I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to near mint through out in my opinion! I dought that you could find a better sounding original than this one!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for very light isolated static tick that may be heard at high volume levels but certainly not conststant throughout the audio! Not loud constant clicks or pops! Please remember that this is an incredible 47 years old vinyl that would have originally beenm played on a 47 year old system! All gradings re my own personal opinions and I follow no codes other than my personal opinion. Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!

Important note! This vinyl has been stored in a case with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and laying dormant for over 35 years or more! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves over the years causes static/ticks. A constant clean before each play is highly recommended. It is noted that I could see debrit on the playing surface after play and cleaning before each play will reduce any static and enhance the audio quality!

The Labels

These feature the 1st issue black and sliver rough textured Brunswick labels. Barely a handful of spindle marks only notices when angled to the light indicating that this vinyl has barely ever been played at all in my opinion! There is little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round!

The Record sleeve.

This is the wight Decca blue printed poly sleeve. Becoming fragile with age only no splits or tares just light creasing staining fading with age only!

The Cover

This is the first issue first UK press Robert Stace printed cover in superbe exceptional condition for 47 years old! No splits or tares All text is readable The spine has slightly crushed only through time but still is in exceptional condition in my opinion! No real nasty creases to talk about the laminate is nice and super glossy and hasn't suffered from too much of the usual nasty vinyl impressions over time due to the fact that the vinyl has been stored seperated from the cover for the last 35 years or more! The rear is generally nice and clean and there is light vinyl impression rubbing noticing at the top half if looked for in general this very fragile and flimsy by nature cover is in exceptional condition! I would grade this cover at least excellent to excellent plus in my opinion!
