The WHO began as a Mod band playing American R n B and garage style rock n roll.
As drugs and other musical influences came along, Pete Townshend steered the band to a more sophisticated genre - earliest Progressive rock.
Pressed in Great Britain in 1969, the first pressings came in a unique custom cover that's laminated in a beautiful glossy finish over the fantastic artwork. It's very special in presentation and we knew the music was going to be something special too.
It's a real landmark in music history, and has grown in status even since 1969 - having orchestral remakes, a full feature film, and full sets played on stages over the world, and over the years, by THE WHO themselves.
Listening to this un-influenced with the knowledge of the heavy powerful attack of The WHO that we know, this album as a whole piece, is just incredible. The subtlety being foreign to the band's 'regular' identity, this has another refined level that's totally unique, absorbing - a cultural experience that no other 'rock roll' band had come close to!
While Beach Boys struggled to compete with Beatles, here was another level altogether.
If Sgt Pepper's was supposed to have been a 'concept' - it was nothing compared with TOMMY!
Here then is a complete first issue album set.
A luxurious double album by any standard - and as vital now as the day of release!

The VINYL grades EXCELLENT to NEAR MINT-
Matt Black Lables with silver text are EXCELLENT
The LAMINATED combination pocket triple facet foldout Cover grades EXCELLENT, having a 2cm repaired split on the edge of the sleeve pocket.
Original poly lined inner sleeves are included, and the NUMBERED special art lyrics booklet insert is nice and clean.
