Description
Genuine first pressing of The Who's Tommy. Low limited edition number on the lyric book insert.
The six-panel gatefold sleeve/cover is in very good condition with normal amounts of age-related wear. See the photos and zoom in to see. The folds in the gatefold sleeve are the main areas.
The lyric book inserts is in good condition but looks like it's been in storage due to quite a lot of discolouration marks all. Particularly the first and last pages. Fortunately, this hasn't occurred on the main cover. You'll be able to see the limited edition number by zooming in on the image.
The vinyl itself if very, very nice. In normal light it is very shiny and looks almost unplayed. Under strong light you can see light surface marks and one of two slightly more prominent ones. I've played the album through and it plays beautifully on my turntable. I could hear a tiny click for a few seconds during 1921 and Go to the Mirror. Very light static occasionally which is only really noticeable to me between tracks.
There are several ways to tell an original from a second or later pressing:
"Labels must not have catalogue number under 'ST33' on the right side." "DOUBLE ALBUM" must be printed below the catalogue number on the record labels. "Each lyrics booklet bears: limited edition number #####". Later pressings had the words "limited edition number" but no number.
