My Generation is not only the definitive anthem of the 1960’s but also one of the definitive albums of the era. While The Beatles smoked copious amounts of mother nature and recorded Rubber Soul, The Who released this blues and soul inflected masterpiece in the same year. This is a timeless album. It still sounds as fresh and raw today as back 1965. This is the best way to appreciate this album-an original heavy-weight 1st Brunswick pressing from 1965.

 

The original sleeve is a strong VG with no rips or tears of any kind. There is creasing present, some wear to the top edge measuring an inch and ½ and age related staining on the reverse. However, this is not enough to detract from the overall appearance of this classic sleeve design. The spine is strong and legible and overall it’s still a superb example. The original poly-lined inner sleeve has no rips, tears or splits. There are prices written in the top right hand corner and some age related staining is present.

 

In terms of the vinyl this is a superb listen. It is a strong VG with mild surface noise and occasional pops occurring on side two. The clarity during playback is wonderful and delivers a depth in sound only vinyl can provide. The labels display spindle wear but there is not staining, cracking or defacement present. Overall, this is a magnificent example of this release and a brilliant Who collectable.
