This original item is from my personal collection. I received this as a prize in December 1982 for winning 'The Who Club' fan club competition, along with a letter stating 'an unreleased Who [sic] single - very rare'
Track listing: Side A: Stop Hurting People
(matrix #K11751 A-1 with 'timtom cbs 7-M' also on the A side run out groove)
Side B: Dance It Away (non-album track)
(matrix #K11751 B-1/with a faint 'ty' and '7-M' on the B side run out groove)
No writing on either Side A or B's label to indicate which songs are on each side. The plain white sleeve has yellowed over time. The only writing on it was done by myself in 1982 with blue ball-point pen to indicate the date I received it, the songs on each side, and artist. It has been kept in a plastic sleeve and played less than ten times either side during all this time.
- Stop Hurting People was never released as a single or as a B side.
- Only two singles were released for this album: Face Dances Pt. 2 and Uniforms. Each of these had a non-album song as the B-side.
- On the official UK single release of Uniforms b/w Dance it Away #K11751 is the catalog number for both the regular black vinyl/pic sleeve and picture disc versions as this one (see photos).
- The song on this pressing is a shortened version of the album release, with the instrumental passage (after the last verse and before the last chorus fade out) edited out.
- Dance It Away is the same version as appears on the B-side of the Uniforms UK single.
- Unknown why this vinyl has the same #K11751 number as the official release of Uniforms.
No official history currently available about this record or if the song was intended as a single release. Possibly it's a one-off test pressing, or one of a very few.
