Description

Some of the most important recordings in Jazz history on imported French RCA releases, which are noted for their sound quality. Up for your consideration is a collection of Volumes 1-20 of The Works of Duke Ellington- The Complete RCA Recordings, which I believe numbered 25 volumes in total. These cover the period 1927-45, which covers the beginnings of Duke's famous Orchestra and the 1940 Jimmy Blanton band, one of the most revered in the Duke's long career. Though French releases, ALL TEXT IS IN ENGLISH. I've discovered that these releases include some outtakes NOT included on the Centennial CD Set!

DETAILED CONDITION NOTES-

Overall- The vinyl ranges from Sealed/New to Very Good+. Almost all are unplayed. Each comes with its original liner, usually plastic. Covers- A number of the covers are split, (maybe most of them. They are 40+ year old covers so I didn't put too much pressure on them to check each one, so these are not noted in the condition details below) meaning the tops and bottoms have come apart. These can easily be repaired with double sided tape or glue, but I will leave that to the new owner to do. There is some damage to the covers of Volume 1 & 2, so I am including pictures of both of them (Pics 2-7). All the others range from Very Good to New. These all come in very thin cardboard, as a result, some of the covers have slight bends to them. Sealed means they come in a taped plastic bag which many imported records came in at the time (1970s-80s), or in the standard sealed shrink wrap (as noted) and have never been opened. I purchased each record new. All come with their original clear plastic inner sleeve, unless noted.

About my Vintage Vinyl- Every record I sell is part of my personal collection of 1,700 Jazz and 500 Classical albums carefully compiled over 30 years (between the late 1960’s through the 1990’s). Countless hours were spent scouring record stores, mostly in NYC, but also in South Florida. Sadly they’re all gone now. Most were bought new and have had 1 owner to date.

Bookmark my page- Additional records are being added almost daily.

All records are visually graded. With so many records on hand, most saw few, if any plays. They have all been kept in a smoke & pet free climate controlled environment. I haven't cleaned them, preferring to leave that choice up to their new owner. Everything I sell is absolutely genuine in all respects. We never sell copies, knockoffs or counterfeits, nor do we reseal anything. Please ask all questions before bidding. This is a final sale.
