RADIO SHOW TRANSCRIPTION DISC FROM THE ARMED FORCES RADIO & TELEVISION SERVICE. TWO COMPLETE RADIO PROGRAMS ON THIS 16 INCH, VINYL, 33 1/3 RPM DISC. THIS DISC WAS ISSUED TO ARMED FORCES RADIO STATIONS FOR BROADCAST TO U. S. TROOPS AND NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. VERY RARE!
"Jazz Is My Beat" radio program #22 circa 1959 hosted by Jim Lowe featuring music by Elliot Lawrence & His Orchestra with guests Thelma Carpenter (jazz singer) & John LaPorta (alto saxophonist). Songs by Elliot Lawrence & His Orchestra include "Organ Grinders Swing", "He's Funny That Way" vocal Thelma Carpenter, "Bernie's Tune" Sam Laporta alto sax, "Last Blue Suit", "Who Cares" vocal Thelma Carpenter, "The Most Minor" Sam Laporta alto sax, "I Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Fred"?. Jim Lowe interviews both guests of the program.
