Description

Thelonious Monk Quartet -- Misterioso LP

1958 US mono release on Riverside Records (catalog # RLP 279, blue labels with reel and microphone logo, Bill Grauer Productions Inc., deep groove, matrix #'s RLP-12-279 A / RLP-12-279 B with "AB" in both run-out grooves).

Monk plays with Johnny Griffin, Ahmed Abdul Malik and Roy Haynes in an acknowledged masterpiece that no serious jazz collector can be without. An early mono deep groove pressing but not a first pressing since labels have "Inc."

CONDITION: Cover VG++ / Vinyl VG to VG+   cover has light general wear, seams and spine all intact; side 1 is strong VG+ with some light surface scratching which doesn't affect play much at all, plays well, side 2 is closer to VG with a couple short surface scratches which cause light tics... aside from those tics there's not much surface noise throughout, making this LP still an overall enjoyable listen.

Graded conservatively using Goldmine standards [G / G+ / VG / VG+ / NM / ]
grade only used if record is brand new.

All records are packaged securely, protected by both stiff and cushion packaging, with vinyl (in original innersleeve) removed from cover and placed safely in poly sleeve to help prevent seam splitting during transit.
