Description
GREAT copy of Monk's classic album recorded live at the Five Spot NYC in 1958. Original Riverside Mono Deep Groove pressing with the tape-reel/mic logo, "Long Playing Microgroove" and "Bill Grauer Productions" in silver on blue label (see photo).
RECORD: VG+ on the Goldmine ratings scale - a few visible light scratches and scuffs on each side from normal wear, that do not affect play but for some brief clicks on Side 1 Track 1 ("Nutty") - if not for that it sounds so clean I'd be tempted to grade it NM! Album has been PLAY-GRADED ON A THORENS TURNTABLE W/GRADO REFERENCE CARTRIDGE AND CLEANED ON A VPI HW-16.5 MACHINE.
COVER: the merest hint of normal scuff-wear across top of front cover with the Giorgio de Chirico painting - otherwise it appears MINT, not even Near Mint - NO sign of ringwear front or back, NO splits anywhere, no yellowing or staining, SPINE INTACT AND COMPLETELY READABLE!
