 This rare 10" Jazz LP was released in 1953 and was Thelonious Monk's first release on the Prestige label, and his second overall. The first being "Genius Of Modern Music Vol. 1" for Blue Note records in 1952. Backing up Thelonious on the A side is Art Blakey on drums and Gary Mapp on bass. The B side is Max Roach on drums with Gary Mapp on bass. The vinyl is in a solid VG++ to Excellent- condition with just a few marks but nothing that can be felt, superb fidelity and lots of it's original shine. The glossy white front cover is fairly clean and in pretty good shape. The back has a small amount of fading at the edges and the original price, written lightly in pencil in the upper left corner.  There is a split along the top edge from the opening to about half way across, half of which is fairly tight. The other edges are fine with a small amount of wear. Don't miss out on this rare 10" Jazz LP offering! Domestic shipping is $3.79 for media mail (up to 10 days). VG = VERY GOOD (will have some scratches, will play thru with minor noise...will not skip or stick)
VG- = VERY GOOD MINUS (will play thru with evident noise, will not skip or stick unless noted in description).
