1996's Factory Showroom, They Might Be Giants' sixth album (their fourth for a major label, their second with a full band), contains 14 songs.
" This may very well be my favorite They Might Be Giants album. It features a bit more of the pop rock sensibilities that I associate with their later works, and yet it still seems familiar when compared to their older material, perhaps due to the inclusion of "New York City" and "James K. Polk." Musically, this album has great variety, and a lot of the songs have incredibly catchy hooks and choruses. I also appreciate their decision to go with fewer but longer tracks for this album, as opposed to their later works that feature large numbers of minute long songs. While I enjoy a lot of their shorter songs, I find I pay better attention to albums with more standard length tracks, as it gives me more time to appreciate what they've done before the next song kicks in. I highly recommend this album to anyone looking for some solid songs with clever writing and great musicianship. " - Fan of This Album
