22 years ago, Eric Hilton and Rob Gaza cemented their reputation as top-notch providers of stoned, lounge-friendly downtempo grooves with their second full-length outing, The Mirror Conspiracy. As this reissue prove, the album has stood the test of time very well, unlike some sets released by the Washington D.C-based duo's contemporaries. Rooted in dub, hip-hop and stylish Latin beats but also informed by chanson, lounge, exotica, Arabic instrumentation and traditional Indian music, the album contains some of Hilton and Gaza's most magical and enduring tunes - not least bona-fide downtempo dancefloor classics 'Lebanese Blonde', 'Air Batacuda', 'Samba Tranquille', 'Illumination' and 'A Guide To I and I'.
