THIS MORTAL COIL - It’ll End In Tears Vinyl 12” LP - Cocteau twins, Liz Fraser.
This album is something of an 80’s cult classic and is in what I would describe as very good to excellent condition, though I admit I am no record grader, just someone slimming down their own private record collection, I am not a dealer. I’ve taken the full complement of photos to be as honest as I can, I hope they will give a good idea and fair appraisal of the records condition.
Was issued on 4AD in 1984, Catalogue No: CAD 411, matrix: A1/B1 'MPO' 'TOWNHOUSE' features the text ‘Heavens just a memory away' (see photo) engraved in the dead wax.
Play tested this before listing and the disc itself plays fantastic with nothing notable in the way of background noise with no clicks, pops, jumps or crackles that I could discern.
The vinyl itself looks almost immaculate with only one notable visible mark as far as I can see, this is on track 3, side 1 “Holocaust”, it does not seem to affect play, as I played the track through several times and wasn’t able to detect any deterioration in sound quality so think it’s purely cosmetic. I’ve photographed it in picture 18 so you can see.
I’ve taken many pictures to get some photos showing the shine of the vinyl which is lovely, so hoping that they help. There are maybe some other very faint hairline type lines if you catch it at the right angle under halogen or strong light but nothing else that shows on photographs and nothing that will affect sound or enjoyment.
I think this is an early or 1st press edition, the sleeve is clean, no creases, splits or bends and has good strong corners and spine is strong and legible.
Includes original printed inner sleeve which has some foxing on the paler areas, no splits or tears, again I’ve included pictures of all this for clarity.
